About Us

welcome

Coastal Customs Sheet Metal Industries

We are passionate Australian Metal Fabricators. Sheet metal workers and skilled tradesmen who create, install, and repair sheet metal products. We are truly your one stop shop.

We have built our business by putting a strong emphasis on providing great customer service along with efficient internal processes.

In order to fabricate sheet metal, we must first create or study given plans, blueprints and specifications. Then determine what processes, equipment, and type of metal will be needed to create the product or part. We then measure and cut the materials according to specifications laid out in the plans. Measuring is done with tapes, rulers, or stamping equipment. Saws, plasma cutters, and drills are then used to create the precise cuts. Sometimes we perform this work by hand; in other cases, we use computer-controlled equipment to perform detailed and accurate work. After the metal is cut, we bend the metal if necessary. Before assembly, we use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment to ensure accuracy. When all pieces of the part or product are ready, they are joined together with screws, rivets, bolts, or welds.

We go the extra mile to satisfy all your Metal working needs.

Why Choose Us

Not every metal fabrication company is the same, and it can be quite difficult to find the best one for your needs. Until Now

So, what is the best way to choose the right metal to use?

We live and breathe Metal and love creating and manufacturing

  • Aluminium is a versatile, lightweight and durable metal. The metal also boasts good electrical and thermal conductivity.
  • Iron is essential for steel production and is a chemical element.
  • Steel is an alloy of carbon and iron that most commonly includes a mix of limestone, iron ore, coal and other elements. Steel has a huge range of applications from machinery to construction materials and more.
  • Carbon Steel. Depending on the volume of carbon that’s used, carbon steel can be fabricated to many different levels of hardness. It must be noted, however, that as the amount of carbon goes up and the steel strength increases, the melting point, ductility and malleability decrease.
  • Stainless Steel. Stainless steel is comprised of chromium, carbon steel, aluminum and other elements that come together to be very corrosion resistant.
  • Copper excels in terms of conducting electricity. It’s corrosion-resistant in a variety of atmospheres. Additionally, copper is malleable, tough and ductile. Copper is particularly good to use in industrial and marine applications.
  • Magnesium is low density and is a light structural metal that is often used in machines that have rapidly rotating parts.
  • Composed of zinc and copper, Brass is often used for pipe fitting, nuts and bolts.
  • Bronze is a copper alloy that has a low melting point, is stronger than copper and heavier than steel

fabrication

Fabrication has various requirements when it comes to type, grade, and metal gauge. Of course, you want a company that can handle everything without subcontracting.

What Is the Metal Fabrication Process?
  • Cutting. Perhaps the most commonly used metal fabrication processes involve cutting, where sheets of metal are split into halves, thirds or smaller sections. …
